Morgan Pryor Morgan PryorCommerce Assistant Editor at AT Media I've been a full-time journalist since 2023, but my experience in the field goes back further. I graduated magna cum laude from NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where I developed my own major called Culture Writing and Criticism. While working my way up to Editor-in-Chief at the school blog, I earned a number of bylines at TV Guide Magazine, CNN, Decider, and Texas Monthly. At those publications, I mostly focused on art and entertainment. However, I’ve always loved shopping, writing reviews, and service journalism — which is what led me to giving commerce writing a try as an intern at CNN Underscored. There, I had a ton of fun producing beauty and fashion shopping stories, which ended up preparing me for my work as AT's commerce editorial assistant.I’ve long been passionate about interior design and taken pride in the appearance of my space, whether it was my dorm room or my first tiny studio. Exploring that interest professionally has been a dream, and I love thinking about a product from every angle and figuring out if it's really worth it. As someone who was recently on a student budget and works with a small living space, I especially like to find and share items that are compatible with that lifestyle. In my eyes, a great product equally delivers on style and function, ideally at an affordable price point.

A bathtub isn’t easy to clean on a good day, so after I got surgery on my torn Achilles tendon, I had basically given up all hope at getting it thoroughly cleaned. Since I’m on crutches and unable to put weight on one foot, bending over to scrub at the tub and tile walls is impossible. I’m not about to risk falling over and reinjuring myself, as much as it irks me to not to wipe it down like I’m used to. So, I resigned myself to rinsing the tub out with my showerhead and hoping for the best until I can finally stand on both feet.
That is, until I remembered that extendable electric spin scrubbers exist, and I realized that I had a shot at getting my bathroom spotless even while I’m injured. I still own (and love) my handheld scrubber, but I needed something with a long arm to reach all of the corners that I can’t. A quick Amazon search shows that there are a substantial amount on the market, varying in price and quality, but I wanted something that would last even after my injury heals. After all, an extendable scrubber will make anyone’s cleaning routine easier, eliminating the pain of squatting and hunching over. Durable, powerful, and totally sleek, HOTO’s version has checked all of the boxes. Keep reading to find out why I’ll never clean without it.

What is the HOTO Electric Spin Scrubber?
There’s no question that the bit of extra cash is worth it for this deluxe gadget. Firstly, even when you’re just looking at it, you can tell it stands apart from others with its monochromatic and simple design. It comes with six brushes for different purposes — as well as a pouch to contain them all — that can tackle water stains and soap scum as well as regular grime.
The device offers a cleaning torque of 2.5Nm, which is powerful yet manageable, and two different power levels to alternate between. One is designated “Soft and Slow” while the other is “Strong and Fast,” going from 220 rotations per minute to 300. On a full charge, you can also complete your full cleaning routine with time to spare — it lasts up to 110 minutes. Most importantly (at least in my case), you can use it as a handheld scrubber or attach the arm, which extends from 37 to 51 inches.
Why I Love the HOTO Electric Spin Scrubber
Straight out of the package, I was impressed by this find. It’s more gorgeous — a word I never thought I’d use for a spin scrubber — than most that I’ve seen, with a glam matte black finish and no-frills design. I could also tell from its weight that it’s sustainable and won’t fall apart any time soon, which is something I was wary of when it came to the cheaper options. The true test, however, was putting it to work with a crutch under one arm and only one good leg to stand on.
Putting all of the pieces into place is a breeze, as is switching them out. So far, I’ve mostly used the large bristle brush, but there are sponge and cloth pads for lighter cleans. Extending the arm is also an impressively smooth process. Though it’s weighty, I haven’t struggled to maneuver the scrubber around my tub. When I hold it in the right spot, the strong motor allows me to let it do its thing. The scrubber essentially does the work for me without spinning out of control. I can tell that it’s giving my tub and tile, especially the grout lines, a deeper clean that I could ever get by hand.
Even though I got this gadget to help while I recover from my injury, I don’t see myself ever removing HOTO’s scrubber from my routine. It cuts my cleaning time in half even now, when I’m not fully healed. Trust me, you won’t know how you ever went without it, either. Make sure to snag it while it’s 20% off, too!
